Mill Springs Ranch,
located in Scheller, Illinois,
is owned by Steve and Norma Hamm. Our goal is to raise functional, phenotypically correct Red Angus cattle that will perform for the
commercial cattleman. We chose Red Angus because of
their gentle disposition and their ability to perform on
the farm and in the feedlot.
As most cattlemen know,
coat color is not necessarily related to meat quality. Red cattle are likely to
be an asset in the hotter regions of the country.
Research has shown that body temperatures of red cattle
are lower than darker cattle. We are living in a global
society today and export demand for red genetics will
